Modesty

At camp this year I taught a two-day modesty/dating class. I loved showing the teenage girls the truth from God's word about what He desires for them. It was a great week. I have been looking for some online resources to help them continue learning about modesty and how to date as a Godly young lady.

Here are a few websites I've found:
www.freshmodesty.com
Modesty is Hot (Facebook)
Princess Charm School (Facebook)

Remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made! And that Jesus loves you!

Church camp

We are on our way! Taking 65 kids (I think!) to camp in Westville, Ok. Well technically it's Baron, Ok but few people have heard of Westville and nobody has heard of Baron! Anyway we will have bible classes, swimming, crafts, and revival services. Gonna be a great time of learning about and leaning on Jesus!

Yummo

We stopped by grandma Melba's today and that means yummies from the garden! Fried green tomatoes, squash, okra, and zucchini! Thank you grandma!

And finally...a plate of pure perfection!

Fun with the Fam

Even though it drizzled all day and was 66* ( in July?!?) we had a good time dyeing t-shirts today. Well…maybe good is exaggerating, but we had a good time being together anyway.

So thankful for any time I get with my brother and sisters and their families. Dad and mom had an unexpected break in South Dakota so they were home for a very brief visit.

Mom treated us all to one of her amazing meals (beans, cornbread, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, fried okra/squash/zucchini mix, cucumbers, and beets!!!)
So I know you are thinking... That's enough food for an army! Well that pretty much sums up our family.

Here are some pics of the tie-dyeing. Thanks to the girls for all their help!

And here they are drying in my den. Hoping for some sunshine tomorrow
(Of course, the oddball shirt belongs to Blake)

Cookies!!

The baking began fairly early this morning. Rejeana had the dough all ready...chilled and sliced into portions ready to be rolled. We had about 22 dozen ready to bake when I left...she is a cookie making machine!

Tie Dye Time

So since church camp is fast approaching, my sisters and I are going to be doing some tie dyeing tomorrow (by some I mean a ton of shirts). Tonight we prepped the shirts by rubber banding them and tomorrow we will dye them. I will post some pics tomorrow of the process. Hopefully it won't rain all day! I'm off to bed now so I will be able to wake up early and go to help Rejeana bake cookies for camp before heading south to mom's. Mom says it is time for another haircut, so I will do that while the sisters start the tie dyeing process. Then we will have a big family dinner since mom and dad will be heading back to South Dakota for a few more weeks of mission work. I'm so excited to see everyone since we haven't all been together since Mother's Day.

Church Camp

It's almost time!!! Church camp is one of my favorite times of year. Out of my 41 years here on this planet earth, I have attended camp for 34 years. It is such a time of renewing and watching children grow in the Spirit. My good friend, Rejeana, and I are out and about today, picking up donations and supplies. God is so good to meet the needs that our little church has for this ministry. We have been blessed to attend a small private camp and so our costs are very low. We do not charge our kids anything to attend camp because so many of them would never be able to attend. I'm so thankful to be in a church that understands and has a heart for the children of this world.
